Artists Statement..

I am originally from lovely Leitrim, spent many years in London and Limerick and  now live in beautiful Boyle in the North West Ireland. I am very fortunate to live beside one of the most beautiful national parks in the country, a source of great inspiration.

I have always been creative and a lover of nature, water, landscapes and sunsets.  I love photography and have been capturing still life and portrait shots for many years now.

I used to paint and draw in my teens and I rediscovered my love for Art and Colour  in recent times.  I also love abstract art and love creating on to canvas.

Visual Art can invoke feelings and emotions for the Artist and for the viewer. It brings me great joy when clients tell me how my artwork makes them feel.

I’m also open to commissions and painting your favorite photographs. Just get in touch – would love to hear from you.

Most of Margaret’s work is acrylic on canvas or board.

Artists Statement..

A few years ago I went through a bad patch with my mental health. I had anxiety, depression, and panic attacks. I went on a voyage of discovery looking for something that might help me and I discovered painting.

Just listening to the brush on the canvas is enough to relax me. I’m inspired by the Sligo landscape and photos I’ve taken, but most recently I’m exploring a more whimsical side of art.

Val is well known in and around Sligo as the author of the popular blog Magnumlady as well as one of the original co-founders of the Sligo Hub.How Val manages to find the time to paint alongside her working life and the love that she has for being immersed in the happenings of Sligo, we have no idea!

Most of Val’s work is acrylic on canvas or board, and to say that I had to encourage her to show her work was a little bit of an understatement, but we are delighted to have all the pieces here until the 10th of September.

Feral cats Sligo are part of a larger national organisation that try to care for feral cats and kittens .They are a super busy crew and part of Val’s sales will go towards assisting with their overheads which include vets bills, food and supplies.
