The world faces an unprecedented need for new innovators, thinkers, and problem solving leaders. Our goal is to create engaging, affordable, and powerful solutions that immerse students in STEM through the excitementofbuilding and programming robots.
The VEX robotics platforms bring STEM learning to life. Students from as young as 8 can start building and programming robots with the tool-less VEX IQ system, while VEX EDR gives secondary school and college students the chance to design, build and program complex competition robots.
In addition to STEM the students acquire other skills such as project management, presentation skills, teamwork, leadership, PR and much more.
There are two divisions of the competition currently being run in Ireland, VEX IQ and VEX EDR. VEX IQ is primary school level while VEX EDR is secondary school level. Schools compete in regional heats and a national final, with successful teams able to represent Ireland at the World Championships in the US every year. Each year there is a new challenge and students must work as a team to design, build, program and drive their Robot.
Over 100 Irish schools participated in the VEX Competiton in 2017. There is a major rollout of VEX currently taking place in Irish schools with IT's Letterkenny, Dundalk and Tralee leading new clusters in 2018/19. This rollout is being sponsored by SFI supported by CIT (email@example.com) and DELL
