Note:
As cork is supplied rolled up, it will arrive bowed. If used on a laser cutter, these sheets should be strapped or taped to the laser bed before cutting. If using magnets to hold the material flat, ensure that they are not in the laser path.
Important Notes
As wood is a natural material, some warping, such as a crook or bow, may occur. The natural twist may exceed 25mm (see section below – Tolerances and Caution).
- B grade (topside): Displays the natural grain pattern with colour variations. Sound, smooth knots (typically 15mm–35mm in diameter) are allowed. The surface is generally free from open knots and plugs, making it suitable for painting, staining, or lacquering.
- BB grade (underside): Allows for larger knots and minor repairs. Sound, smooth knots up to 50mm in diameter are permitted, with open knots repaired using wooden plugs. This grade is ideal for applications where the appearance is less critical.
