Conte Colour Carres Crayon Set of 12 crayons - good qualty professional standard. Conté Carré crayons are oblong sticks of kaolin and pigment, between the hardness of a soft pastel and the stickiness of an oil pastel. Originally formulated in the late 18th century, they are excellent sketching tools, producing broad strokes with their edges or tips (which can be sharpened with a sanding pad) and areas of colour when used flat.
Conte Colour Carres Conte Carres are a unique designers ; 39; crayon offering unparalleled design options. The square sectioned sticks are slightly softer in texture than pencils making them excellent for sketching and layout work together with monochrome and polychrome design work. Conté Pastel Pencils offer the artist an excellent range of colours to be used either with one another or in conjunction with soft pastel, particularly for detail work. The density of the lead is slightly harder in composition than soft pastel, allowing it to be sharpened with a traditional pencil sharpener (preferably suited specifically to coloured pencil) preventing it from crumbling. The fine lead allows for a smooth application and can be manipulated and blended using a stump or tortillon.
