Winsor and Newton Drawing Inks are fast-drying shellac-based inks with added dyes to give brilliant colour strength. These transparent inks can be used with a brush, airbrush or dip pen for a wide variety of uses. The inks are intermixable, and can also be layered to produce outstanding colour effects and mixes.

Most of the inks in this coloured range are water-resistant. The Winsor and Newton Drawing Inks are ideal for lots of uses, including Calligraphy, Drawing, Writing, Sketching, Washes, Illustration, Design work, Crafting and Airbrushing.

Winsor & Newton Inks have been used by illustrators since their introduction in the 1890's, where the main requirement is brilliance of colour. Today they are formulated from a series of soluble dyes in a superior shellac solution. these inks can be applied with brush, dip pen or airbrush and are widely used by designers, calligraphers and artists as well as illustrators.

Liquid Indian Ink is the traditional formula of the Chinese sticks and is not water-proof.
