Three Bob Ross Liquid Basecoats essential to the Bob Ross Wet-on-Wet Technique. The Bob Ross Wet-on-Wet Technique is dependent upon a wet surface to work into. Liquid white, liquid black and liquid clear are special formulas of oil painting mediums developed exclusively for Bob Ross, allowing the artist to blend their oil colours directly on the surface. Made from high-quality acrylic resin with excellent pigment adhesion, can be used directly from the bottle and creates an excellent surface for paint adhesion. It will help reduce absorbency and enhance paint integrity. When working with oil paint, at least two coats are recommended. It is advised to thin it with water and dilute the paint you will use with water up to 50%. When applying Gesso to the surface, it reduces absorbency, resulting in more vibrant colors and longer paint life.

Liquitex Black Gesso is a premium acrylic gesso used to prepare painting surfaces for acrylic and oil paint. Using pre-mixed gesso is more convenient than tinting clear gesso. Priming a canvas in black eliminates the starkness of white and provides strong contrast.
