Kitronik Pair of 5 Spoke Wheels for TT Motor Yellow

    Manufacturer: Kitronik
If you have a robotics project or buggy featuring geared hobby motors, these 5 spoke injection moulded ABS wheels are the perfect wheel for the job! They fit directly onto the geared hobby motors TT style shaft and can be screw fixed firmly in place. The ABS used is very lightweight and has excellent mechanical qualities. As such, the wheels are extremely durable and very difficult to break. As they are made from ABS the wheels can be fully recycled.

The wheels are supplied with rubber o-rings that when pushed onto the wheel act as tyres. When fitted, the o-rings will not come off accidentally. A concerted effort is required to remove them.

    Features:
  • Sturdy 5 Spoke design.
  • Injection moulded with matte green ABS.
  • The ABS used is lightweight and has very good mechanical properties making them durable and difficult to break.
  • Supplied with rubber 0-rings that fit to the wheel and act as tyers.
  • Can also be used as a drive pulley for projects such as a ferris wheel or lazy Susan.
  • Push fit for TT shaft geared hobby motors. The wheel can then be screw fixed to the motor to ensure it stays in place.
  • The ABS wheel material is fully recyclable.

Kitronik Right Angle Geared Hobby Motor In line Motor

    KI 2547
This 90RPM in-line geared TT hobby motor is a great cost-effective solution for adding some movement to your buggy/robot builds. It can be used with our matching wheels and with our motor driver boards, such as our Motor Driver Board for Raspberry Pi Pico and the Compact Motor Driver Board for the BBC micro:bit, to name just two. Note: when using a microcontroller, do not drive these motors directly with the microcontroller, always use them in conjunction with a motor driver board.

Despite their low price point, these brightly coloured 120:1 motors are quite durable and are likely to last through multiple builds with ease.

Although there is a gearbox between the motor and the shaft, there are no rotary encoders. When connected to an appropriate motor driver, like the two listed above, you get forwards/backwards/stop. Simple yet effective. With 2 motors connected to a motor driver, you can also have directional control by turning off one motor and not the other. As is sometimes the case with servos and motors, there can be some small RPM differences between motors which can be overcome when coding, a little trial end error and the odd pause is usually all it takes.

These hobby motors have an operating voltage of between 3V and 6V, with 4.5V being nominal. This makes them suitable for powering with batteries. At 4.5V, they have a speed of 90RPM no-load and 72RPM at load. Torque at the nominal 4.5V is 0.3Kg/cm and they have a stall torque rating of 1.4Kg/cm. See Datasheet for more information.

Note:When using a microcontroller, do not attempt to drive these motors directly with the microcontroller, always use them in conjunction with a motor driver board.

    Features:
  • A cost-effective movement solution for your buggy/robot builds.
  • Use in conjunction with a microcontroller, motor driver board, and wheels.
  • A simple yet durable design with a ratio of 120:1.
  • They are rated for an operating voltage of between 3V and 6v, with 4.5V being nominal.
  • They can be powered with batteries.
  • At 4.5V, they have a speed of 90RPM no-load and 72RPM at load.
  • Torque at the nominal 4.5V is 0.3Kg/cm and they have a stall torque rating of 1.4Kg/cm
  • Decoratively coloured!

Picture of Kitronik Compact Motor Driver Board for the BBC micro:bit

Kitronik Compact Motor Driver Board for the BBC micro:bit

    KI 5698
Add motor driving capability to the microbit with the Kitronik compact motor driver board for the BBC micro:bit. This motor driver board allows two motors to be driven simultaneously with forward, reverse & stop control, making it ideal for designs such as buggies. The board has a built-in short circuit, over current and thermal protection. Please note, when used with a stepper motor, half-stepping is supported - but not micro-stepping.

The board includes an integrated Edge Connector for your BBC micro:bit to slot into easily. It also features external connections to the button A and button B inputs. This allows additional switches/inputs to be connected to the motor driver board and the state of these can then be read by the BBC micro:bit.

There are 2 additional inputs/outputs. These can be used for connecting a range of parts and can be used in either digital or analogue modes.

Power is provided via either a terminal block or servo style connector, the supply is then controlled by an on/off power switch to the board. There is a green LED to indicate when the board is turned on. The board also produces a regulated 3V supply that is fed into the 40 way connector to power the inserted BBC micro:bit, removing the need to power the BBC micro:bit directly.

Kitronik has produced a set of custom blocks for the MakeCode editor to simplify using the Compact motor driver board. To add them to the editor, select the cog icon in the top right of the editor. Then, select Extensions from the drop-down menu and in the search bar type and enter Kitronik. Pick the Kitronik motor driver tile from the list and the new blocks will be added to the menu in the editor.

    Features:
  • Ideal for designs such as buggies and other robotics projects.
  • Drive 2 motors with full forward, reverse and stop control.
  • Terminal blocks for easy connection of motors and inputs.
  • The 2 additional inputs/outputs can be used in either digital or analogue modes.
  • This board also features an on/off switch and power status LED.
  • Includes Edge Connector for the BBC micro:bit to slot into.
  • Provides regulated power to the BBC micro:bit.
  • Access the other BBC micro:bit pins easily and conveniently.
  • Program with the MakeCode editor or with python.
  • When used with a stepper motor, half-stepping is supported - but not micro-stepping.

  • Contents:
  • 1 x Compact Motor Driver Board for the BBC micro:bit.

  • Dimensions:
  • Length: 68mm.
  • Width: 46.5mm.

Picture of Kitronik MOVE Line Following Board for the BBC micro:bit

Kitronik MOVE Line Following Board for the BBC micro:bit

    KI 5629
Add line following to your BBC microbit Robot/buggy projects with the :Move Line Following Board for BBC micro:bit. Although designed with the :MOVE mini in mind, this board can be used to add line following to any micro:bit buggy. If adding line following to the :MOVE mini, you will need the Line Following add-on for :MOVE mini instead. This is because the fixings for the :MOVE mini are not included in this kit.

The board can be used to either follow a dark line on a light background or a light line on a dark background. For best results, ensure there is approx. 5mm clearance between the bottom of the board and the driving surface. The sensitivity of the line following can be adjusted via the two onboard pots, one for each detector. The same pots are also used to change the type of line that will be followed; to detect darker, turn the pot clockwise and to detect lighter, turn the pot anti-clockwise.

The board has an operating voltage (Vcc) of 3V and is rated for a max current of less than 1mA. There are two output channels via a 5 pin output that has the following configuration; 0V / Left Detector / 3V / Right Detector / 0V.

    Features:
  • Add line following to your microbit Robot/buggy.
  • Can be attached directly to the underside of the :MOVE mini.
  • Can either follow a dark line on a light background or a light line on a dark background.
  • The line following sensitivity can be adjusted with a screwdriver.
  • No Soldering is required.
  • Example line following code is provided.

  • Dimensions:
  • Length: 43.7mm.
  • Width: 31.5mm.
  • Max height: 5.7mm
  • Pin Header Pitch: 2.54mm.
