Winsor and Newton Drawing Inks are fast-drying shellac-based inks with added dyes to give brilliant colour strength. These transparent inks can be used with a brush, airbrush or dip pen for a wide variety of uses. The inks are intermixable, and can also be layered to produce outstanding colour effects and mixes.

Most of the inks in this coloured range are water-resistant. The Winsor and Newton Drawing Inks are ideal for lots of uses, including Calligraphy, Drawing, Writing, Sketching, Washes, Illustration, Design work, Crafting and Airbrushing.

Winsor & Newton Inks have been used by illustrators since their introduction in the 1890's, where the main requirement is brilliance of colour. Today they are formulated from a series of soluble dyes in a superior shellac solution. these inks can be applied with brush, dip pen or airbrush and are widely used by designers, calligraphers and artists as well as illustrators.

Liquid Indian Ink is the traditional formula of the Chinese sticks and is not water-proof.

Windsor & Newton Classic Cotton Canvas.

High quality traditional and smooth cotton canvasses. Stretched by hand, each acid-free, archival canvas is primed with highly pigmented titanium dioxide Gesso. The archival cloths give balanced absorbency and tooth which gives improved adhesion and responsiveness to every brushstroke.

A low-viscosity alkali refined oil of pale colour which is a slower drying variant of the linseed oils. Refined Linseed Oil makes oil colour “fatter”. Reduces the consistency of the paint and increases gloss & transparency. Add to fast-drying oils to balance/slow drying times.

Bespoke paper for your graphic marker choice, blend-friendly, ensuring the most impactful graduations of colour. Ink bleed is prevented to ensure clean lines and maximum precision.

Winsor & Newton Griffin Oil Colour 37ml Range Traditional oils, wonderful as they are, take a very long time to dry. That's why we created our Griffin Alkyds - they dry much more quickly and this means impasto and glazing techniques can be done in a single session. We've created a range of tones and these have a slightly greater level of transparency for increased depth and clarity when glazing. Our Griffins are a bit more fluid in consistency than tranditional oils and they dry with a somewhat more reflective surface, too.
