The V5 Distance Sensor measures distance to an object, approximate object size and approach speed. The distance measurement range is 20mm to 2,000mm. Below 200mm the accuracy is approximately +/‐15mm, above 200mm the accuracy is approximately 5%. The approximate object size is reported as small, medium or large, and is useful for determining if the target is a wall or a game object. Approach speed measures the approach speed of the sensor and the object.
The V5 Distance Sensor uses a classroom safe Class 1 Laser, similar to those used on modern cell phones for head detection. The laser allows the sensor to have a very narrow field of view, so detection is always directly in front of the sensor.

The V5 Rotation Sensor measures shaft rotational position, total rotations and rotation speed. The rotational position is measured from 0° to 360° with a 0.088 accuracy. The angle is determined absolutely and is not lost when the robot is powered off. The zero position can be set on the dashboard or by code. Rotations is the number of revolutions forward or reverse, and can be reset to zero as needed. Rotation is not stored and restarts at the current angle on each program execution. Shaft speed is measured in degrees per second.
This sensor is compatible with 1/8” and 1/4” standard VEX shafts.
High Strength Shaft Collars are designed to fit onto High Strength Shafts. This clamping-style collar uses standard hex and star drive screws and nuts to maintain a tight lock without scratching or damaging the shaft.

Shaft Collars lock to drive shafts, keeping wheels and gears from sliding along the shaft. Collars fit around Drive Shafts and can be fastened in place using a hex or star drive set screw. For use with VEX 0.125" shafts.

Lighten the total weight of a robot or mechanism while still keeping it strong. VEX aluminum kits contain the same metal components as standard structural kits (C-Channel, Plates, and Bars), at a fraction of the weight for improved robot performance! These tiles were specifically designed to prevent Electrostatic Buildup. In our testing, Anti-Static Tiles consistently showed little to no static buildup at all! These tiles are also reversible, essentially doubling their lifetime, and allowing for much quicker field assembly.
It should be noted that these Anti-Static tiles will NOT interlock with pre-existing Foam Tiles, but otherwise are practically identical. They are functionally equivalent, and any minor differences that do exist (color, thickness, Coefficient of Friction, etc.) are extremely negligible, and should not impact robot-field interaction.
